Yala National Park
Yala National Park, Sri Lanka. The place where I feel like a wildlife photographer and mostly just hope something shows up.
Morning safari, dust in the air. Our guide points into the bush and shouts "Leprt! Leprt!" I squint. A rock? Leaves? "Gone. Did you see it?" I didn't.
The elephants were easier; they posed like models. A buffalo blocked the track and made it clear we weren't going anywhere. Safari is patience, luck, and sometimes an animal walking straight into your frame.
A day I'll remember, as much for the people in the jeep as for the animals.
The rest is photos.
